Persons appointed to this position will receive the privileges and benefits associated with regular employment status.Duties:This position provides leadership in the coordination and administration of clinical operations, teaching and research within the Department of Urology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. This will be accomplished by planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating functions of our clinical services as well as trainee and research activities. This position provides administrative oversight for the Department of Urology staff. This position works with care providers to deliver efficient and safe patient care and to optimize efficiencies in the healthcare delivery process. This position works with administrative, research and teaching teams to obtain and allocate resources effectively. This position creates ad-hoc reports and dashboards as needed. This position collaborates with all Centralized Management of Scheduling Program, Iowa River Landing, the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, and other stakeholders to enhance care options and access for UI Health Care patients. This position manages, coordinates, and directs electronic support for patient scheduling, provider scheduling, scheduling maintenance, and visit management, including referral functionality. This position develops, tests, and monitors system enhancements, including major upgrades. This position supervises support staff that monitors and responds to user questions and issues related to system support. This position evaluates and modifies physician scheduling templates to enhance staff efficiency, improve patient access, and improve patient flow. This position develops standardized data structures across scheduling and visit management. This position develops new and monitors existing reporting tools to evaluate workflow, staff performance, and system performance in scheduling and visit management.Education Required:A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Experience Required:3-5 years administrative experience is required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in computer spreadsheet and database applications.Proficiency in UIHC electronic scheduling and visit managment system.Extensive knowledge of patient scheduling workflow and physician template development and management.Desirable Qualifications:Certified in Epic Cadence functionality.Knowledge of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics policies, procedures, and regulations.Commitment to customer and employee satisfaction.Excellent analytical skills.Ablity to facilitate positive outcomes by collaborating and working in a team environment, establishing and meeting/exceeding department objectives and deadlines.Supervisory experience.Online Application OptionsApplication Type:This job requires basic applicant information, plus a resume.
