Persons appointed to this position will receive the privileges and benefits associated with regular employment status.Duties:Focus on the care of hospitalized and ambulatory patients, manage length of stay, improve resource utilization and decrease costs to patients and the institution while providing personalized care to the burn and complex wound patients within the Department of Surgery, Acute Care Surgery.Education Required:PA: Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA.ARNP: A Master's degree is required. A Master's degree in Nursing is preferred. If Master's degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.Experience Required:Reasonable (1-3 years) experience in area of clinical practice is required or previous experience in specified hospital specialty area or demonstrated knowledge of area of clinical practice.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.Evidence of ability to function with a high degree of independence while actively collaborating with health care members providing care for highly complex surgical patients.Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environmentCertifications:PA: Eligible to be licensed by the State of Iowa to perform as a Physician Assistant.ARNP: Current certification in specialty area and licensure as ARNP in State of Iowa is required.Desirable Qualifications:Experience providing overall medical care and provide medical management for patients in an inpatient setting is highly desirable.Experience exercising autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided is highly desirable.Experience managing length of stay, improve resource utilization and decrease costs to patients and the institution while providing personalized care is highly desirable.Ability to work well in a team environment.Experience with multi-disciplinary process improvement preferred.Online Application OptionsApplication Type:This job requires basic applicant information, plus a resume.
